The Quali heats - STOCK
Q1 and Q2 were won by Marco Frisacher and his WRP - the events top favourite driver won already the two last editions of the event and last years final round of the Swiss PRO 10 nats in Sitterdorf in a similar manner.
Class newcomer Mischa Kroos, the winner of the 1st round of the Swiss PRO 10 nats, also put in a strong performance with his WRP, securing P2 and P4.
Last year’s runner-up, Renato Marrocco had some bad luck with his ROCHE and a DNF in Q1 due to a broken spur gear, but managed to score a 2nd place in Q2.
Local hero Laurent Tobel also managed to finish well up the field in the first two heats, but was always a few tenths of a second off the pace of the fastest drivers.
Last year’s B-Main winner John Trottmann (also WRP) put in a stronger performance this year, securing a P4 and P6 in the first two heats on Saturday afternoon.
- The laptimes came down again, as Marco put in a 21.398s in the cooler saturday evening conditions. This is a improvement of almost 6/10s over the past 12 months - very impressive!
Q3 Marco sat out the 3rd heat, to focus to the modified class. Mischa sets the pace and takes the win, capitalising on Marcos’s break. A solid performance from him. Behind him, John shines in P2. Laurent is back in P3 (as he consistently manages in every heat). Michael on P4, Roman P5 and Martin P6 round out the rest of the field. Martin managed to achieve good results with his new radio.
Marco takes control again in Q4, comfortably winning the round with a time of 22 laps in 8:14.804 Minutes opened up a lead of around 7 seconds over his closest rivals. He is currently in a league of his own. Behind him, Renato secures P2, 0.2 seconds ahead of Laurent in P3. Behind Laurent, Mischa, Ahmet and Reto ranked 4th, 5th and 6th respectively. It’s not that Marco’s pursuers are slow; no, it’s Marco’s sheer pace that makes it impossible for anyone to keep up.

The Technics
Once again, there was a huge variety on cars in the PRO 10 13.5t class, with plenty of WRP's, several Fenixes, a pair of XRAYs and ROCHE's, some FALCON's and a couple of custom-built cars of Laurent, Massimo or Marc.
When it comes to batteries, the trend is shifting from shortys to mid-size models, as the shortys are reaching their capacity limits in the 8 Minute races. The batteries were mounted both lengthways and crossways.
Tyres from GP-Speed from Austria, Enneti (Andi received a big delivery from italy right before the event), the new Hotrace from Italy and ZIB Foam from Switzerland.
Many different bodies, ranging from Viola (formerly Protoform Vulcan) to CR-Project Mirages and Fenix Etna and other shells, as well as WRP PRO 10 body, were mostly used multiple times.
Stock Mains
A-Main
- A1 The start goes off more or less without a hitch. In the Stock class, it’s generally more common for things to get a bit dicey at the start and for cars to make contact. Not because the drivers lack the necessary skills, but rather because it is in the nature of the sport that you simply have to push harder in the Stock classes to capitalise on an incident at the start, as it is very difficult, if not impossible, to make up time or even attempt an overtaking manoeuvre without the car in front making a mistake first. The intense afternoon heat in Lostallo, around 30°C, took its toll on the cars and slowed lap times considerably. Marco was now also unable to lap in under 22 seconds. However, he was able to win A1 comfortably with a lead of around 7 seconds. Behind him, Mischa finished in P2 and Laurent in P3. Renato, who had started from P3, had to retire caused by a broken servo.
- In the second A-Main, Marco now has the chance to win the Stock class at the Pan Car Masters Lostallo for the third time in a row. Does this put any pressure on him, or is there room for nerves that might hold him back? Not in the slightest. He once again secures a commanding start-to-finish victory and seals the deal with a 5 second margin. Renato, highly motivated again after his DNF in A1, finishes the race in P2 after a tough battle with Michael. Mischa, who was P2 in A1, is now only P4 ahead of Ahmet.
- With Marco already confirmed as the winner after two races, A3 will decide the rest of the podium positions. With Laurent, Mischa, Renato, Michael and John, five drivers still have a chance of finishing on the podium. After Mischa ran into trouble in the very first corner, Laurent, Renato and Michael were able to overtake him. His chances of a podium finish faded slightly. At the front, Laurent and Renato were locked in a close battle, which, after several overtaking attempts by Renato and his excursion off the track on the final lap, ultimately went to Laurent. Mischa managed to finish in P3, Michael in P4 and John in P5. The final lap was marked by chaos and bad luck for many drivers. Roman in P6 was unfortunately unable to match his performances from last year throughout the weekend.
We had a brilliant time together

Congatulations to all the podium finishers and B and C-Main winners
Welcome to Lostallo...
...dear modified racers
Unfortunately, the number of entries in the Modified class has been rather low for several years now. This year, we are at least 9 racers. Please could you explain what might be causing this?
Joining the usual suspects – last year’s winner Hansruedi Bär, multiple Swiss champions Roger Eifler and Laurent Tobel, multiple RC Le Mans series winner and VIP-Performance owner Tobias Weist, Pan Car Masters Stock winner Marco Friesacher, and 2024 Eurocup winner Markus Schneider – is Eurocup founder and PRO10 Series organiser James Hild once again this year. These drivers are completed by Pan Car Masters organiser Andi Frattaroli, who often distinguishes himself as a multiple class starter, and our friend from North Rhine-Westphalia, Oliver Thyssen with his new WRP – hopefully his name says it all and he has nerves of Thyssen steel.
Beautiful Lostallo
The Quali heats - MODIFIED
After two timed practice sessions (seeding), qualifying got underway on Saturday afternoon. Temperatures were summery and hot, hovering around 30 degrees. The Modified drivers’ approach was somewhat different to that of the Stock drivers, as there was no pressure to go all out from the start, given that everyone was bound to end up in the A-Main anyway. It may be that this meant the competition lost some of its edge or that there was a slight lack of ambition.
It became apparent that, despite the high temperatures, track conditions were very good and fast lap times of under 20 seconds were possible for several drivers.
- In Q1, Marco performs well for the first time and takes the lead from lap 2 onwards. After a poor first lap, Tobias manages to catch up and put pressure on Marco and Hansruedi. Hansruedi, who makes a mistake on lap 3, falls back. For a long time, things look very promising for James, and he manages to hold onto the lead until he makes a mistake on the final 14th lap and drops back to P4. Behind James, Andi finishes the race in P5. Andi is making steady progress in the premier class. Basically, no one got through the race without a hitch. Everyone made at least one major mistake, costing them a few seconds. Eifler went off at the end of the straight on lap 3. He probably hit the pothole mentioned earlier and flew all the way into the barrier. Just a few seconds later, Markus also went off at the end of the straight due to a technical fault (servo cable failure), putting the marshal in danger. The fastest lap was set by Tobi with a time of 19.258s.
- The second race was scheduled for 6.50 pm on Saturday evening. The temperatures were already cooler, so lap times were expected to improve. Marco and Markus managed to hold their own at the front and benefited from the cooler conditions. After a few teething problems at the start, Tobi was also able to push forward. He had an extremely fast car, but struggled to drive consistently and had the odd wobble now and then. Laurent secured P4 and Hansruedi P5. In this race, Marco, Markus, Tobi, Laurent, Hansruedi and Oliver all managed to break the magic 20-second barrier.
- Q3 on Sunday morning, with conditions once again not too hot, was also set to be a fast session. This time, Laurent took the lead with some blistering lap times. It was only a matter of time before his diligent and ambitious work paid off with top positions, also in Lostallo, where he had a lack of pace in the past editions. He managed to complete nine consecutive laps in under 20 seconds. Laurent completed 16 laps in 5:17.666 mins. Well done, Laurent! Marco finished 1.2 seconds behind in P2, ahead of Hansruedi in P3, who was 1/10th of a second behind Marco. Behind them were James in P4 and Andi in P5. The fastest race lap was again set by Tobias with 19.073s – what a lap time. In this direction, this would have set a new track record. Unfortunately, Tobi, Markus and Oliver had DNF.
- The final qualifying session was set to decide who would start from pole position in the afternoon Finals. Marco had already secured two TQ runs, and Laurent had the chance to do the same. As Laurent had set the fastest time, he was in a strong position. Marco got off to the better start, taking the lead with a few laps in the 19-second range. However, on the penultimate lap, he made a serious mistake and dropped back to P3. Laurent was able to secure P1, as hoped. Tobias finally achieved a good result, finishing in P2. Behind Marco in P3 came Hansruedi in P4 and Markus in P5, who was unable to shake off his Lostallo curse (or complex).

Modified Mains
A-Main
- At the start of A1, James fired up the turbo and raced straight past Markus into P5; after the first few corners, he was already in P2 as there was a bit of a chaos at the front. Radio issues pushed Tobias to retire his VIP car. Laurent struggled from the start to keep up with the pace of his pursuers, which meant he was made contact with several times, first by Marco and then, a few laps later, by Markus. He was so slow going into the corners that those behind him were unable to brake sufficiently. James was able to briefly take the lead during this phase. However, he had to hand it back to Laurent afterwards, as he gradually regained his speed. Laurent secured his first final victory, ahead of James on P2 and Marco P3. The fastest lap times in this race were set by Marco with 20.5s. The high noon temperatures did not allow for any better times.
- At the start, it usually looked the same: James overtook Markus on the straight and, after the chaos in the first few corners, the pair were in P2 and P3, or P3 and P4 respectively. Only the gods (or those involved) know exactly what happened there at the front. Tobias took the lead in a hard fight with Laurent and fought for the win until in a incident, he lost a piece of his Body and unfortunately DNF. In any case, in the second final, the top three were able to pull away and build up speed. Markus was the fastest of the three (by just a few hundredths) and managed to take P2 from Hansruedi on lap 11. A lap later, he opened the door a bit too wide again and Hansruedi was able to reclaim P2. Laurent won the race in commanding fashion and thus secured the day’s victory. Heartfelt congratulations, Laurent. According to a german saying, "good things come to those who wait" or "2good things take time."
- It was the same story again in A3. At the first finish line crossing, Laurent was in P1, Hansruedi in P2, followed by Markus in P3 and James in P4. Given these promising circumstances, it’s a shame that Markus didn’t manage to secure a better final position. He retired after lap 2 due to a broken ball joint on the central shock. In contrast, Andi managed to stay out of the others’ trouble and quietly worked his way up the field. His progress is impressive. He reckoned "you just need to fit the right bodywork, and then it all falls into place." We suspect he was driving with an SMJ body. This seems to be well-balanced. He managed to finish P5 overall, what means a decent result. Lap times under 20 seconds were now possible again. Marco, Markus, Hansruedi, Laurent and Tobias managed this. Tobias, for his part, had to retire early once more due to a stripped spur gear. As for Marco, the battery contact desoldered yet again – we hope he can resolve this issue until the next race (near Paris).

Dear MRTM
It has to be said that the condition of the tarmac surface at the Lostallo track puts a great deal of strain on the fast PRO 10 Modified cars. The cars are pressed firmly into the ground in the many fast corners. The bumps on the track cause significant wear on the chassis plates and bodywork. The cars often move off the line quite severely in fast corners, both onto the straight and onto the back straight as a matter of bumpy apex. In the corner after the straight, where you go from the long left-hand bend into the chicane, the car tends to lift off the ground (nose up). If you drive too far to the left (still on track) in the final third of the straight, you’ll fly off the track because there’s a huge pothole there - ask Roger E. he suffered an accident like that. Added to this is an unacceptably high level of tyre wear. On the front right, depending on which direction you're racing, the tyre sometimes wears down from 58mm to 54mm in a single run! This makes it very little fun.
Dear MRTM Club,
Please improve the track conditions as a matter of urgency. I know the club has been talking about resurfacing the track for a long time, but I’m not aware of what’s preventing it from realising it. However, we have already come to the same conclusion over the last couple of years and the last couple of editions of this event. Maybe this could be the caus of the few Modified registrations.
Don't hesitate to inform us about your thoughts.
Road to the 2026 Pan Car Masters Lostallo
This year’s edition of the annual and undoubtedly already legendary Pan Car Masters will be characterised by summery temperatures and, as usual in Lostallo, the risk of rain showers. However, we are confident that the showers will fall elsewhere.
The participants come from all over Europe. Alongside the well-known Swiss cracks, there will be some lesser-known Swiss competitors, many Italians, a few Austrians, two Germans, a couple of Frenchmen, one Belgian and one Dutchman, as well as a Thai competitor. That means drivers from eight countries.
In addition to the four Pan Car classes PRO 10 Modified, PRO 10 Stock 13.5t, Formula 17.5t and 21.5t, 1/8 Electric and 1/8 GT (both with foam tyres) will also be fought out. The Pro 10 Stock and 1/8 Electric count for the SRCCA Swiss Electric Championship.
Last year’s winner in the Modified class, Hansruedi, will once again be highly motivated to repeat his victory this year. Standing in his way is the WRP Team, which has put a great deal of effort into new developments in order to improve on its results from recent years.

Just like last year, the PRO 10 Stock class is once again the most popular this year, with 28 entries. The standard is constantly rising, although quantity does not always equate to quality. Looking at the names, however, it is clear that it will be difficult to qualify for the top 10 A-Main grid.
Fortunately, the Formula Class – which some had already written off – is also being revived. There are 25 entries, including a number of names synonymous with fast lap times and good results. Newcomers may well spring a few surprises as well.
Just a group of nine drivers is expected in the premier class. That’s enough to really liven up the track. It’s possible that, following the planned track refurbishment in Lostallo, we’ll be able to welcome a few more drivers back to the PRO 10 Modified class in future. Drivers who had decided not to take part due to the somewhat uneven track conditions or what they perceived to be excessive tyre wear. In our opinion, this was unwarranted, as the track is still an absolute blast.
PAN CAR MASTERS 2025
The unofficial PRO 10 World Championship
Last weekend, 6th - 8th June, it was that time again, the Pan Car Masters was on the agenda.
The large number of registrations (over 80 drivers) was part of the proof that the PAN CAR MASTERS is very popular.
The weekend was a blast!
PRO 10 Stock
With 29 entries the best-attended category was to be Pro 10 Stock (13.5t blinky mode). This race was also part of the 2025 Swiss Championships and it was clear from the outset that it would be difficult for the established pilots to finish in the top positions
The so-called ‘French Connection’ was in attendance, with prominent drivers such as Stephane Clisol, Guillaume Morel, Nicolas Borgeot and the southside-GANG around Steve "the sleeve" Beranger and Helge Weiss
The multiple Swiss champion in the Swiss-GT newly named "Pro 10" Stock class, Laurent "THE MECHANIC" Tobel (of French origin and resident in Italy), also wanted to build on his performances of previous years, as he has already walked away as "The Master" from this event. This race describes a kind of home race for him
The already well-known John De Kok from the Netherlands is also prepared to make the long journey every year and is seen as a 'role model' for all those who complain about the long distances to get to Lostallo.
There is nothing to complain about. The biggest hurdle is getting into the car and setting off.
For those who are shy from a long car journey - Milan airport is only about 60 minutes away and is served by flights from all major European cities
The ‘Italian job’ was tried to be done by the FENIX Factory family team around Giorgo and Marco Favaretto and Massimo de Natal
The Swiss team consisted of ‘MIGHTY" Marco Friesacher, Renato “ROCKET” Marrocco, Martin ‘SMOKEY’ Messerli, Michael Häuptli , Renato Meier and many others. The new HOBBYLOBBY (The IRIS Satellite Team) team with drivers John Trottmann, Felix Hörenz and Renato Isler, who were making their pan-car debut with their WRPs, were also highly motivated at the start to achieve a good result and enjoy a cosy weekend. PRO-10 RC, also confident to be able to get a top spot
Not forgetting our WRP team-boss Roman Wolff from Austria with his fellow contrymen Gerd Pfeifer and Rainer Tschabrun. Roman intends to WIN THE THING, as he does every year 😆. The WRP Team was the strongest manufacturer in terms of registrations. 14 drivers on WRP, meant more than the half of the field
The Quali heats - STOCK
- Q1 and Q2 were won by Renato Marrocco. The event's favorite (as the last years winner) Marco Friesacher had some bad luck with a straggler (me) in Q1, which cost him the TQ. The best times were set by Marrocco, Friesacher and Wolff with 22.1 Seconds each
- Q2, however, Laurent was the first to go below the magic 22 Seconds barrier. 21.949 is very impressive! Bravo Laurent 🏆 Häuptli also played along with the front runners and was able to maintain P4. Roman Wolff's time would not come until the next day. Schneider still had problems and was unable to hold his own at the front
- Q3 was wet and some drivers did not compete, the classification was shaken up a bit and this round went to Laurent with his mighty "rain-car"
- Q4, now on a immediately dried up track, was won by Marco, which gave him P2 on the grid. Wolff was able to secure 7th place on the grid with a P5 in Q4, directly behind Messerli on P6 and Isler P5. Schneider again unable to finish Q4 while leading the heat and dropped out

Stock Mains
A-Main
- A1 was characterised by a tough battle between Friesacher and Marrocco in the early stages. Friesacher was ultimately able to go take the lead and keep Marrocco behind for the rest of the race. Tobel, who could not quite match the pace of the two in front of him, finished in P3. Wollf in P4 followed by Isler P5 and Fässler P6
- A2 turned out to be a disaster for pole setter Marrocco, who was involved in several collisions in the early stages and later retired. Friesacher was again the beneficiary of the story, securing overall victory with this win. P2 went to Tobel, followed by Isler P3. In front of Häuptli in P5, who had missed the start in A1, ‘smokey’ Messerli was able to place himself P4 and thus build on his consistently strong performances over the entire weekend. Fässler P6 and Wolff P7
- Friesacher sat out A3, leaving the way clear for Marrocco to secure 2nd place. Marrocco was able to pull away shortly after the start and open up a gap. A driving error in the 2nd chicane after the straight threw him back to P2 - Tobel was able to take the lead for a few laps. However, Marrocco came back to fight his way through, made an overtaking manoeuvre on the straight and clearly win the race. P2 to Tobel, P3 Häuptli, Messerli P4 and Fässler P5
B-Main
- Schneider was on pole for the B-Main, missed out on B1 and left the field to the remaining competitors. John won B1 confidently ahead of Schlunegger and Hörenz
- Schneider tried to win B2 and unfortunately retired while leading (the servo lever screw came loose for the probably 25th time). John also had problems and could only finish in P6. P1 went to Noel, followed by Schlunegger and Beranger
- B3 was now dominated by Schneider, who lapped all the drivers and with a time of 21 laps in 8.18 minutes could have fought for a top place in the A-Main. John in P2 and Felix in P3 on their debut
C-Main
- Renato Meier was able to secure a clear victory in the C-final and hopes to achieve a result in the next race higher up there

PRO 10 Modified
The matter was settled among the Swiss drivers. The experienced drivers such as Roger Eifler, Hansruedi Bär, Christian Seiler, Laurent Tobel and Markus Schneider were up against the quasi-newcomers Ahmet and Andi 🤣
It would be nice to see some new faces here, for example from France, Italy or Germany, or familiar faces from the Czech Republic, Belgium or the Netherlands. PRO-10 RC can guarantee that it is a big challenge and a lot of fun to drive on the Lostallo track with a PRO 10 Modified - especially the banked corners give a feedback to your car, as you never experienced before. And fortunately, tyre wear was not as awful as expected
PRO-10 RC will try to do the best to have a bigger field of drivers in the Modified class next year
Support your local clubs, shops and organisers !!
The Practice
Friday's practice sessions in the Modified class showed early on that Markus and Christian were the fast guys. Christian, who won the last two Pan Car Masters, is always one of the favourites
The track was very hard to drive at the beginning, but this eased and improved over the weekend. Probably most of the drivers were also able to adapt the set-up to the requirements. Grip conditions were good and tyre wear was within normal and expected ranges.
Due to the rough tarmac, the considerable amount of 1/5 rubber and the high cornering speeds, moderate tyre consumption is to be expected in the Modified class, as is the case in many places
In the first timed practice session on Saturday morning, Schneider was able to shine with a fastest lap time of 19.483s and topped the leaderboard. Not yet consistent - but fast
The Quali heats - Modified
The qualifying races began on Saturday afternoon in awesome weather and top track conditions
- Bär and Schneider set a good pace in Q1 and pulled away from the field. In the end, Bär won Q1 approximately 2 seconds ahead of Schneider. Bär had only returned from holiday on Saturday morning and immediately found his speed
- Before the start and during Q2 the rain came and some of the riders decided not to start. A few drivers are well prepared for these conditions and were able to switch to the rain car at short terms. Eifler was able to take the lead ahead of Bär and Frattaroli. The lap times went up from high 19s in Q1 to around 30s in Q2
- The still wet track on Sunday morning brought exactly the same classification of the top 3 for Q3 with even slower lap times of at least 31s
- A dried track in Q4 offered a close battle at the front of the field. Tobel secured P1 ahead of Friesacher and Eifler. Bär on P4, Frattaroli P5 and Ahmet P6, Schneider with a DNF

Modified A-Mains
- A1 could be started on time. Schneider was able to move up from P6 already in the first lap, also with the friendly help of his opponents, who put up no resistance. When Schneider quickly caught up with the leading Friesacher, he opened up in a surprisingly friendly manner, which took Schneider by surprise and caused him to make a driving error - also because the grip of the rear axle deteriorated somewhat in the second half of the race. The car performance deteriorated continuously and Schneider was overtaken by Bär in P2 and Tobel in P3, finishing in P4 ahead of Eifler in P5, Ahmet in P6 and Frattaroli in P7
Fastest lap: Schneider 19.910s
- A2 started similarly to A1 and Schneider was able to make up places in the early stages. Bär held his own at the front ahead of Friesacher. While Tobel ended up in P3 and Eifler P4. P6 went to Frattaroli and P7 to Ahmet
Fastest lap: Bär 20.091s
- A2 was now to decide the race winner. Schneider wanted to get another strong result to finish at least on the podium. However, his efforts came to an abrupt end on the first lap when, after a scramble at the entrance to the infield, high up on the back straight, the front of the car took off and it turned into an aeroplane. The front axle was damaged during the landing. The bumps in Lostallo took their toll. Eifler took advantage of this and secured the last podium spot with a P1 finish. Bär secured P2 and Tobel finished P3 with a solid performance, Fiesacher P4, Ahmet P5 and Frattaroli P6
