The Modified class
Julien Parnot, the 2023 EUROPEAN CUP CHAMPION, who made his mark on the race with his JRP from the 2nd practice session onwards and was an integral part of the top 3 positions
Philippe Vialla, THE NEWCOMER, who already made a strong impression @ 2025 PRO10 series round #1 in Ampuis and drove away from everyone else in the hottest conditions on Saturday afternoon
Laurent Tobel, THE MECHANIC, who amazed everyone in Superpole after switching from the VIP body to his beloved "Viola" and somehow increased the controller settings to "HOT"
Tobias Weist, THE EXPERIENCED, who rolled up the tarmac with the new front-end on his VIP
Antonino Mangiaracina, THE PORTUGESE, who tried to fight off the old hands with his new XRAY XP10
All the other drivers also made their mark on the race in their own way and played their part in making the event another great success
The Stock class
Some drivers also wanted to make their mark on the Stock class race.
For some, it was just a case of wanting to - Others impressed strongly
Roman (not Toto) "THE BOSS" Wolff was able to show impressive lap times with the factory-updated WRP-IV - could he turn it into a top result this time?
Florent Jadot was confident that, equipped with the new XRAY XP10, he could put the competition in its place
Maxime Pouffier, THE LOCAL HERO, wanted to improve on his good result of the French Championship race earlier this year and the Electro Cup last year and therefore got an upgrade and was at the start with a new JRP
Renato "ROCKET" Marrocco tried to repeat what he did @ the 1st round of Pro10 series in Ampuis - win that thing
The Practice sessions
From the 1st practice rounds, it has been clear that the grip-level of the track was really high and it would be a challenge to find the perfect setup. This in combination with the heat of the tracksurface made it even more tricky. The pilots were looking for the best balance between maximum traction and drivability
In the 2024 Pro 10 race on this venue, we saw a record lap of 15.2s and we quickly realised that this record won't became much older
The first timed practice was characterized by reigning champion Markus Schneider as he lay down a best laptime of 14.977s and got to the front with a margin of 0.8s on Laurent Tobel P2 and Julien Parnot P3 with already 1.1s gap over 3 consecutive laps.
The business turned a little as Julien Parnot was able to take the lead of the 2nd run and gained 0.3s. P2 again to Laurent Tobel who improved his pace for 0.1s and P3 for Tobias Weist with 1.0s distance to P1. The leader Markus not able to improve in the 2nd heat and not even able to keep up with the others.

The Quali heats - Modified
The qualifying races began Saturday Morning in awesome weather and top track conditions, but the thing was clear: Heat 1 and 2 would be the best to realise quick times.
- Until Schneider had to retire he was on a good pace in Q1 - he lost the wires on the motor. Tobel took P1 and Vialla P2 as the rest of the field was close together with Hild P3, Weist P4 and Schiltz P5. Parnot and Bedoucha had also a DNF and hoped for the 2nd heat
- Vialla lay down a impressive performance with his ROCHE in Q2 and won the heat in a pretty dominant manner. He made a laptime of 15.000s, as most of the contenders were struggling already with the increasing track temperatures and not able to follow. P2 went to Tobel and P3 to Schiltz.
- Q3 only saw Julien Parnot and Markius Schneider with improvements as they both unlucky DNF Q1 and Q2 but the pace good enough to reach the top spots. Further behind, only Bedoucha on P11, Gourgeaud on P14 and Loonis were able to get into the TOP 20 after heat 1 and 2
- Q4 and Q5 didn't change things a lot
After the Qualification heats, the SUPER POLE was on.
The best 4 drivers after qualifiying were allowed to get into the Super Pole to fight out the Pole position. The best lap out of 5 laps counted.
The Finals - Modified
- At the start of A1, there was a contact between the two first starters, with a worse outcome for Philippe. He lost a few positions and a lot of ground on the leader Laurent. Julien retired after a few laps in the lead with motor problems. The disruption in the first few laps of the race was capitalised on by drivers starting further back. An accident between Antonino and Alexander in front of the drivers' podium meant the retirement of both. After a few laps, Laurent had a larger lead over Markus, who had started from P8, ahead of Philippe, who started his race to catch up with a lap time of 14.913s and increased the pressure on Markus to finally overtake him later. P1 went to Laurent ahead of Philippe in P2 and Markus in P3, P4 James and P5 Tobias.
This weekend 3 pilots, Julien Parnot, Philippe Vialla and Markus, managed to get under the 15s barrier (all with a 14.9s), which meant exceptional performances and lap records in each case. We have seen an impressive increase in performance on this track since the last Pro10 race. Whereas a year ago only Markus was able to run in this range, he pushed his opponents to stretch their limits, which is very pleasing and promised spectacle for the spectators. The flip side of the coin, however, is that this pushes riders closer to the technical limit, which can and has led to more retirements and problems. We hope that we can get these problems under control and utilise the performance.
- A2 was a clear-cut affair as Laurent led the race from the front and maintained a lead of around 2 seconds until the end. Vialla in P2, who again got a bit stuck at the start, and James in P3, who fought a tough battle with Tobias Weist for long stretches. The two swapped positions almost every lap. Tobias finally crossed the finish line in P4 ahead of Nicolas in P5.
- At the start of A3, Laurent was taken out of the race after crashing with James and Julien, clearing the way for Philippe, who achieved a dominant victory with a 6-second lead. After a collision at the start between Markus and Dirk, Markus waited until Dirk was able to continue, but he was involved in another accident shortly afterwards. Markus, who now had nothing to lose, set a fast pace and was almost able to catch up with Tobias in P2. In between, Nicolas in P3 also had a mixed final result statistic.
- Shortly before the start of A4, the rain arrived, which played into the hands of some drivers, but not others. The rain had been forecast for some time with gusts of wind. Nicolas and Markus decided not to start from the outset. Our German friends Tobias and Dirk seized the opportunity and put their experience in these racing conditions from their nothern climate conditions to good use, securing P1 and P2 with their reliable cars. James, the RAIN-WHISPERER, was able to book another P3. Laurent finished in P4 and Antonino in P5.
That meant in the end, Philippe Vialla could take the win in his 1st participation of the CUP. Big respect for that achievement. Unlucky with the ending but confident with P2, Laurent Tobel was the man to beat in the final heats. Tobias, again able to clinch the podium, on P2 the only man of last's year's podium, visibly happy with his result.
Final standings:
- Philippe Vialla
- Laurent Tobel
- Tobias Weist
- James Hild
- Dirk Elsebusch
- Nicolas Schiltz
- Markus Schneider
- Antonino Mangiaracina
- Alexander Valente
- Julien Parnot
The Quali heats - Stock
The heat also took its toll on the stock drivers and their cars, meaning that the lap times in the later qualifying runs would not be the fastest. The drivers were not only keen to minimise battery lag, but also to keep the rise in temperature of the controller and motor, which inevitably leads to a loss of performance, to a minimum.
Finding the best balance between motor power, temperature and the car's weight was the top priority.
