The 2024 European PRO 10 Cup
The weekend of 30th august to 1st september was the date of the 2nd edition of the European Pro 10 Cup in Grenoble/Montbonnot (France). Lots of drivers from all around of Europe have attended the amazing event to race in two Pro 10 classes.
The event had its 1st launch the end of august 2023 in bourg en bresse with an amazing starting grid of about 75 drivers competing in 2 classes. The high hopes to the event were fulfilled by organiser James who presented an amazing show during the 3 days of racing.
Stock class
In the 10.5t stock blinky class it was Koen Geurds (WRP) who set the pace from the start of the event. With Patrick Bariot (Fenix), Vincent Goublaire (Special RC), Roman Wolff (Head of WRP) and other fast french guys tried to chase Koen, he was really challenged all the event. In the end he was able to secure the overall win, after setting the TQ spot in front of Patrick Bariot and Vincent Goublaire to complete the podium. Roman Wolff was on a good pace, but driving mistakes took him the chance of a podium finish.
Modified class
The Modified category was thrilling fast this weekend.
The main issue was the heat in the french alps. The temperature management has been the most important thing for many drivers, with running their electronics on the edge of burning down.
It's been a close fight between reigning champion Julien Parnot (JRP), the germans Dirk Elsebusch (Dicker Fisch) and Tobias Weist (VIP), James Hild (WRP) and the event favourite swiss driver Markus Schneider (WRP).
Everybody agreed, due to lower temperatures, the last qualifier sunday morning would be the fastest. Track records achieved in prequali practice run sunday morning from Dirk with 14.890s, some laps later improved by Markus with 14.780s proved this fact. This last and fastest qualifier, Markus was able to secure the TQ spot with 20 laps in 5.09 minutes, Julien Parnot 2nd and Tobias Weist 3rd.
3 Finals out of 4 counted on points and Markus took the win by winning the first 3 Final runs. Runner up spot went to Tobias Weist in front of his countryman Dirk Elsebusch, who has become one of the biggest fans of the event.
We all are looking back on a stunning event organised by James, often think back to it and we hope to compete in 2025 with the best Pro 10 drivers from europe for the 3rd edition of the event.
